Welcome to our new site we got up and running live on 28 May 2010 at 09:00

Ever wondered what the roadblock, traffic diversion, or lots of policemen running around was on the way to work recently but never saw it on the 6pm news or online media outlets?
That was probably because it wasn't important enough for mainstream media to report on.

The purpose of this site is to offer the internet or mobile phone surfer video of incidences from as many places as we can in New Zealand.
The videos will be compiled by our online editor with no voice overs and only a basic script and will be uploaded as soon as we check it . If you have ANY pictures of an emergency situation anywhere in New Zealand please feel free to email it to us.

This is a free service there are no logon costs or subscriptions. Currently there is no advertising either that will probably change as you can appreciate, maintenance of a website like this still has a cost.

We have an association with professional news camera operators all over NZ so check back for new videos soon. New videos published will predominantly from Christchurch and the Canterbury region until our network of video gatherers gets larger.

Don't forget we are new and in our infancy it will take a little while for people to get to know us and offer their videos to us.
Our main point of difference to online and TV news is that we don't offer a script or a slant to what happened. We simply let you view or download the video of what happened.

Uploading can be done by email or regular contributers can login to our FTP server.

We are happy to take any format, cellphone video, handycam video, still camera video, even stills.
Weather events, Police and Traffic, Ambulance, Aircraft. All things interesting.

All we need is a brief description of where, why when. Then we'll check the uploaded file and publish with your name if you want.

A small note from the web editor about different codecs

We will continue to have free content available on this website for download and viewing.
We have chosen NOT to use the flash media system because it is simply not free it is proprietry software licenced to Adobe. (Sorry flash users) So we will encode all videos in mp4 or H.264 codec because under the terms and conditions of the licence we can continue to use it freely until 2016 if we do not charge for downloads.

Thank you.
